Sample data

Twenty tabs before every call, and still guessing.

Before a first conversation you skim the company's site, hunt for news, check whether they're hiring, and try to work out what they care about. It takes half an hour per account, so most accounts never get it.

Contact databases tell you who to email. They don't tell you why this company might care now, or what to ask when they pick up.

Scouta does the reading and shows its work: every fact links to the public page it came from.

How it works

From a domain to a sourced brief in about a minute

  1. Describe who you sell to

Your offer, industries, company size, regions, the roles whose hiring matters to you, and tech that makes an account a fit.

  2. Add target accounts

Type domains, import a CSV, or import companies from HubSpot (Team and Pro).

  3. Read the research

Buying signals (hiring, funding, expansion, launches, leadership changes, tech on their site), each with its link and date, plus a fit score with reasons.

  4. Prepare with the brief

What they do, likely priorities, angles for your offer and three opening questions. Edit, accept, export as PDF or Markdown, or push to HubSpot.

Example brief

What a brief looks like

A precomputed brief for a made-up regional freight carrier, written for a made-up seller of route-planning software. This is the same example the try-it page shows when live research is off.

What they do

  • Regional freight carrier running refrigerated and dry-van routes across the US Midwest.[1]
  • Opened a 40-door cross-dock terminal in Indianapolis in October 2026, adding daily Indiana routes.[3]

Likely priorities inferred

  • Bringing the new Indianapolis routes up to speed without adding empty miles.[3]
  • Putting 120 new refrigerated trailers to work profitably after the financing.[4]
  • A new COO and a new fleet-operations director usually review how routes are planned in their first months.[2][5]

Suggested angles suggestions

  • Lead with the Indianapolis expansion: new lanes are where route planning pays back fastest.[3]
  • Offer the new fleet-operations director a baseline of empty miles on current routes before the new trailers arrive.[2][4]

Opening questions

  1. How are you planning routes for the new Indianapolis terminal, and what has to go right in the first quarter?
  2. With 120 refrigerated trailers coming, how will you decide which lanes they go to?
  3. What would the new Director of Fleet Operations need to see in their first 90 days?

Use cases

For the moments before a conversation

Boundaries

Research, not a contact database

No personal contact data.
Scouta doesn't find emails or phone numbers, build lists of people, or sell data. It researches companies.
No automated outreach.
It never emails, messages or calls anyone. What you send, and to whom, stays your decision.
Everything shown as fact has a source.
Every fact and signal links to a public page with a date. Inferences are labeled; unconfirmed details are shown as unknown.
Nothing pushed without you.
A brief reaches HubSpot only when someone presses Push and confirms.

What it can't do

  • It only knows what's public. A company with a thin website and no news gets a thin brief, and the brief says what it couldn't check.
  • Signals depend on what's written down: a role filled last week may still be listed, and a funding round that wasn't announced won't appear.
  • Priorities and angles are inferences from the signals, labeled as such. They're a starting point for your judgment, not a fact about the account.
  • Fit is only as good as the profile you give it. With no industries, sizes or regions, it can only score signals.

Pricing

Pay for briefs, not seats you won't use

A brief counts when Scouta researches an account and writes its brief. Rewriting a brief from the same research, editing it and weekly monitoring checks don't count. You're never charged for extra briefs: when they're used, research waits for the next period or a bigger plan.

Free: research 3 companies a day on the try-it page with no account, then 3 saved briefs with a free account (no card).

Questions

What is Scouta?

Scouta is an AI account research tool for B2B sellers. Give it a company's domain and it reads the company's website, job postings, press page and recent news, finds buying signals with their source and date, scores fit against your ideal customer, and writes a short brief with three opening questions.

Can I try Scouta without an account?

Yes. The try-it page researches one company domain at a time, 3 times a day, with no account, and deletes the result after 24 hours. When live research isn't available it shows a labeled example brief instead. A free account gives you 3 saved briefs.

Does Scouta find emails or phone numbers?

No. Scouta researches companies, not people. It doesn't find emails or phone numbers, build contact lists, sell data or send outreach. If you need contact data, use a contact database alongside it.

How do I know the research is accurate?

Every fact and buying signal links to the public page it came from, with a date. A signal is kept only when its supporting passage appears word for word in that page. Priorities and angles are labeled as inferences, and anything Scouta couldn't confirm is shown as unknown rather than guessed.

What counts as a brief?

A brief counts when Scouta researches an account and writes its brief. Rewriting a brief from the same research, editing it and weekly monitoring checks don't count. Solo includes 50 a month, Team 250 and Pro 1,000.

Does it work with HubSpot?

On Team and Pro you can connect HubSpot by OAuth to import companies (name and domain only) as target accounts, and add an accepted brief as a note on the company after confirming. Scouta never reads or writes HubSpot contacts. Other CRMs: export briefs as Markdown or PDF.

Which AI does it use, and is my data used for training?

Scouta uses Anthropic's Claude models to find signals in the sources and write briefs, and Exa to search news and the web. Only public pages, your offer and your ideal customer profile are sent; the providers don't train on it. Code checks every quote, source and date.

Who do I contact with questions?

Email clio@new-odyssey.com. A person reads every message.
