Everything Scouta does
Scouta researches each target account from public business sources: the company's own website, job postings, press page and news. It keeps only buying signals it can show word for word in a dated source, scores fit against your ideal customer with reasons, and writes an editable brief you can export or push to HubSpot.
Research from public business sources
What Scouta reads for each account, and nothing else.
- The company's own website. Its home page and up to five pages it links to (about, careers or its hosted job board, press or news, products, customers), read politely: robots.txt is honoured and private network addresses are never fetched.
- Job postings. Open roles on its careers page or the job board it links to. Roles that match the ones you name become hiring signals.
- News and the web. Recent articles about the company from a search provider (Exa), with their publication dates. Contact-data sites and social networks are excluded.
- Tech on their site. Tools the website visibly loads (for example HubSpot, Segment, Intercom, Shopify), cited to the page that loads them.
Buying signals with sources and dates
- Six kinds of signal. Hiring for relevant roles, funding or investment, expansion (new markets, offices, acquisitions, partnerships), product launches, leadership changes, and tech visible on their site.
- Checked, not guessed. A signal is kept only when the passage that shows it appears word for word in its source. Each shows the link and a date: the article's own date, a date written on the page, or the day Scouta read it.
- Unknowns say so. If company size, region or industry can't be confirmed from public sources, the brief says so instead of guessing.
Fit against your ideal customer
- A score with reasons. 0 to 100 from industry, size, region, tech and recent signals, each reason linked to its source. Anything unconfirmed scores nothing and is labeled unknown.
- Exclusions. Keywords that rule an account out (for example "freight broker") mark it as a weak fit with the page that mentions it.
Briefs you can edit and trust
- Five parts. What they do (sourced facts), likely priorities and suggested angles (labeled as inferred, with what they're inferred from), the signals, and three opening questions.
- Edit, accept, reject or rewrite. Your edits are marked as yours. Rewriting from the same research doesn't count against your briefs.
- Export. Download any brief as Markdown or PDF, sources included.
- HubSpot notes, on confirmation. On Team and Pro, an accepted brief can be added as a note on the company in HubSpot. Nothing is written without you pressing the button and confirming.Early access
Weekly monitoring (Pro)
- Re-checked every week. Pro monitors up to 500 saved accounts and emails teammates who keep alerts on when new signals appear, each with its source. Monitoring checks don't count against your briefs.
Your data
- Export and delete. Download everything as JSON, delete any account, or delete the workspace. Accounts you stop working on are deleted after the period you choose.
- Roles. Owner, admin, researcher and viewer. Only the owner handles billing.
Questions buyers ask
How does Scouta make sure its research is accurate?
Every fact and buying signal in a Scouta brief links to the public page it came from, with a date. A signal is kept only when its supporting passage appears word for word in that page. Likely priorities and angles are labeled as inferences, and details Scouta couldn't confirm are shown as unknown, never guessed.
